Job summary

Holladay Park Plaza in Portland's Lloyd District is seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Technician to maintain buildings, equipment, and spaces while ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for residents and staff.

The role includes preventative maintenance, basic repairs (electrical, plumbing, mechanical), and responding to urgent needs. Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. PST. Pay range: $24.00–$29.00 per hour, DOE.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in carpentry, building maintenance, or related field.
• Ability to safely use ladders and maintenance tools.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems.
• Good communication and customer service skills; familiarity with maintenance software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and minor improvements across the community.
• Troubleshoot basic electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs.
• Respond to maintenance requests, alarms, and urgent building needs.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and keep tools in good condition.

Overview

Holladay Park Plaza is a premier not-for-profit Life Plan Community located in Portland's vibrant Lloyd District. We are seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Technician to help maintain our buildings, equipment, and community spaces while ensuring a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, guests, and team members.

Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 6am - 2:30pm PST

What You'll Be Doing

• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and minor improvements throughout the community, including drywall repair, light painting, and general building maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and complete basic electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs to support safe and efficient operations.
• Respond to maintenance requests, community alarms, emergency calls, and urgent building needs in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and ensure tools and equipment are kept in good working order.
• Provide outstanding customer service to residents while supporting community safety and emergency response procedures.

Pay

$24.00 - $29.00 / hr DOE

About You

• Minimum of one year of experience in carpentry, building maintenance, general repair, or a related field.
• Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, shop equipment, and maintenance tools.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification upon hire or within 90 days of hire preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building maintenance systems.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills with experience using maintenance management software preferred.
