Job summary

Land O'Lakes, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain facility and production equipment for our Purina Animal Nutrition manufacturing team in Portland, Oregon.

You will install, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to support high-quality product creation. The role requires 1 year of maintenance experience, basic computer and math skills, and a readiness to learn.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of industrial or building facility maintenance experience.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Basic computer and math skills required.
• Able to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions and product manuals.
• Willingness to learn new skills, problem-solve and troubleshoot.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Complies with safety processes and safety practices.
• Shows up on time and completes tasks by deadlines.
• Monitors plant machinery performance; performs preventive maintenance, repairs, diagnostics, tests, troubleshooting, and inspections; documents work.
• Ensures standard operating procedures are followed.

Job description

Maintenance Technician Pay: $40.49 per hour + $1.00 Shift differential Shift: 3rd shift; Monday - Friday 10:30pm - 7:00am; Weekends/Overtime/Holidays as needed. This is a Union Facility, and this position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement. In this role, you’ll be a key member of our Land O’Lakes, Inc. manufacturing team, performing maintenance of the facility and production equipment to ensure our plants can add value and quality to the inputs and creation of final high-quality products. You’ll be responsible for the installation, ongoing maintenance, and necessary repairs for the facility and the production equipment. You will work with a variety of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and controls. Join our team to become part of a member-owned co-op that is Rooted In Tomorrow. Required Experience and Skills

• Must be 18 years or older
• 1 year of industrial or building facility maintenance experience
• Basic computer and math skills

• Strong collaboration, communication skills, and is always respectful

Preferred Experience

• 1 to 3+ years’ experience working with basic electrical systems, compressors, welding, plumbing, conveyers, hydraulics, packaging, PLC, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, and pumps.
• LOTO experience
• Forklift experience

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
• Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active movements
• Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment
• Working in temperature zones that include cold and/or hot environments for extended periods and may include areas where dust and chemicals are present
