Job summary

Land O’Lakes, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Tech for the 2nd shift (2:00 pm – 10:30 pm) to keep our Purina Animal Nutrition manufacturing lines running safely and efficiently.

You’ll install, maintain, and repair facility systems and production equipment, working with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components, and performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. Overtime and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• 1 year of industrial or building facility maintenance experience.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Able to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions and product manuals.
• Willingness to learn new skills, problem-solve and troubleshoot.
• Strong collaboration, communication skills.

Job description

Maintenance Tech Pay: $31.30 - $33.30 per hour, based on experience.

Plus Shift differential $1.00 per hour if applicable.

Shift & Working Hours: 2nd Shift. 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm Weekends/Overtime/Holidays as needed.

In this role, you’ll be a key member of our Land O’Lakes, Inc. manufacturing team, performing maintenance of the facility and production equipment to ensure our plants can add value and quality to the inputs and creation of final high-quality products.

You’ll be responsible for the installation, ongoing maintenance, and necessary repairs for the facility and the production equipment.

You will work with a variety of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and controls.

• Other duties as assigned

Required Experience and Skills

• Must be 18 years or older
• 1 year of industrial or building facility maintenance experience
• Basic computer and math skills
• Able to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions and product manuals
• Willingness to learn new skills, problem-solve and troubleshoot
• Strong collaboration, communication skills, and is always respectful

Preferred Experience

• 1 to 3+ years’ experience working with basic electrical systems, compressors, welding, plumbing, conveyers, hydraulics, packaging, PLC, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, and pumps.
• LOTO experience
• Forklift experience

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
• Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active movements
• Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment
• Working in temperature zones that include cold and/or hot environments for extended periods and may include areas where dust and chemicals are present
