Job summary

Wendover Management is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support safety, comfort, and care across our multifamily communities. You will respond to service calls, perform make-readies, and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry tasks.

A proactive, detail‑oriented mindset and customer-service orientation are essential for success. Work closely with the Service Manager and Community Manager to maintain high standards of curb appeal and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in property maintenance is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry, drywall repair and painting.
  • Comfort with troubleshooting HVAC, electrical and mechanical issues; certification is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with a safety-conscious mindset.
  • Customer service focus and team attitude.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office and maintenance-tracking software.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of grounds, buildings, and shared spaces.
  • Remove trash from office areas and perimeters daily.
  • Prepare units for new residents with make-ready tasks.
  • Clean and prepare apartments and models to standard of excellence.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and mechanical issues.
  • Assist with maintenance needs and escalate major concerns.
  • Maintain curb appeal through daily inspections and upkeep.
  • Support emergency responses during severe weather or events.
  • Keep maintenance shop organized and stocked.
  • Collaborate with office staff on projects and resident needs.

With a focus on safety, service, and curb appeal, you'll support the day-to-day upkeep of the community while modeling care, precision, and pride in every task. Working closely with the Service Manager and Community Manager, you'll bring both hands‑on skill and heart for service to every interaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness and functionality of grounds, amenities, building exteriors, leasing office, and shared spaces
  • Ensure trash is removed regularly from office areas, community perimeters, and trash chutes/compactors
  • Prepare units for new residents by supporting make-ready efforts—including trash removal and minor repairs
  • Clean and prepare available apartments and models to our standard of excellence
  • Troubleshoot and repair a range of maintenance issues, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry
  • Assist with maintenance needs across the community and elevate larger concerns to the Service or Community Manager
  • Maintain curb appeal through daily visual inspections and proactive upkeep
  • Support emergency response efforts including hazardous weather, flooding, or fire events
  • Keep the maintenance shop clean, organized, and stocked
  • Collaborate with office staff on community projects or resident needs as requested

What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in property maintenance is a plus
  • Working knowledge of light carpentry, drywall repair and texture, and painting
  • Comfort with troubleshooting HVAC, electrical, and mechanical issues (certification a plus or desire to obtain)
  • A keen eye for detail and a proactive mindset toward safety and presentation
  • Customer service focus with a positive, team-first attitude
  • Ability to multitask and shift priorities in a fast-paced, people-centered environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry‑specific property management and maintenance tracking systems, with the ability to accurately document work orders, manage schedules and inventory digitally, communicate efficiently, and support data‑driven decision‑making

Working Conditions & Expectations
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing throughout the day
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Use of ladders, power tools, and other maintenance equipment as needed
  • Comfort working in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions—including heat, cold, rain, and humidity
  • Manual dexterity to handle small parts, tools, and repairs
  • Occasional work from heights or in confined spaces
  • Ability to respond quickly in emergency or time-sensitive situations
  • Reliable mobility throughout the property to complete tasks across buildings, units, and common areas
Compensation includes competitive base pay plus performance-based bonuses.
