Job summary

KidsTLC is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician to keep our campus, buildings, vehicles, and grounds safe and well maintained. This role offers hands-on work, variety, problem-solving, and pride in keeping a facility running smoothly, in collaboration with the Director of Facilities.

You will perform general maintenance, assist with vehicle care, manage work orders, and help maintain grounds and safety systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 4 years of related experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance and repairs (drywall, painting, minor plumbing/electrical, carpet cleaning).
• Troubleshoot and complete basic appliance and equipment repairs.
• Assist with minor vehicle maintenance and scheduled repairs.
• Complete maintenance work orders using CMMS ticketing system.
• Maintain campus grounds (landscaping, debris removal, seasonal upkeep).
• Assist with snow/ice removal and fire safety/environmental management systems.
• Organize and track tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
• Support facility improvement projects from start to finish.
• Collaborate with Director of Facilities on projects and maintenance needs.

KidsTLC is looking for a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to help keep our campus, buildings, vehicles, and grounds safe, functional, and well maintained.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, variety in their day, problem-solving, and taking pride in keeping a facility running smoothly. You'll work directly with our Director of Facilities and play an important role in supporting the children, families, and employees we serve.

What You'll Do

No two days are exactly the same. Your responsibilities will include:

• Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including drywall, painting, minor plumbing, minor electrical work, and carpet cleaning
• Troubleshoot and complete basic appliance and equipment repairs
• Assist with minor vehicle maintenance and scheduled repairs
• Complete assigned maintenance work orders using our CMMS ticketing system
• Help maintain our campus grounds, including landscaping, debris removal, and seasonal upkeep
• Assist with snow and ice removal during winter weather
• Support campus fire safety and environmental management systems
• Organize and track tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies
• Assist with facility improvement projects from start to finish
• Work closely with the Director of Facilities on campus projects and other maintenance needs

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is dependable, organized, mechanically inclined, and comfortable tackling a variety of projects.

Qualifications include:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 4 years of related experience
• General knowledge of building and property maintenance
• Ability to safely use tools, equipment, and lawn maintenance machinery
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
• Ability to climb ladders and work both indoors and outdoors throughout the year
