You will perform general maintenance, diagnose HVAC, electrical, and plumbing issues, carry out preventative tasks, and maintain records. The role requires independence, good time management, and a valid driver's license, with outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of maintenance or facilities experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and systems.
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC systems and components.
  • Complete light electrical work including fixtures, outlets, and minor wiring repairs.
  • Perform plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, clearing clogs, and replacing fixtures.
  • Maintain grounds through weed trimming and leaf removal.
  • Conduct pressure washing of buildings, sidewalks, and outdoor areas.
  • Execute preventative maintenance tasks and maintain service schedules.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and accurate maintenance records; ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, and procedures.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance, repair, and upkeep of facilities and grounds at Kids In Distress. This role ensures a safe, clean, and fully operational environment for staff, children, and visitors by performing routine maintenance, addressing repair needs, and supporting preventative maintenance efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and systems
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC systems and components
  • Complete light electrical work including fixtures, outlets, and minor wiring repairs
  • Perform plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, clearing clogs, and replacing fixtures
  • Maintain grounds through weed trimming and leaf removal
  • Conduct pressure washing of buildings, sidewalks, and outdoor areas
