We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Viking Villa community in Ogden, UT. The role involves performing general grounds and lawn maintenance, as well as basic repairs to homes within the community, for 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance to keep homes and community areas in proper condition.
- Complete work orders efficiently and report status to the Community Manager promptly.
- Handle all contacts with residents, prospective residents, visitors, and staff courteously and professionally.
- Identify deficiencies using established procedures and take corrective actions with approval.
- Maintain community grounds, including weed treatment, leaf raking, planting, mulching, shrub trimming, and tree limb removal.
- Dispose of garbage from community grounds and common areas regularly.
- Perform snow removal using appropriate equipment.
- Report large or bulk trash items to the Community Manager for pickup arrangements.
- Conduct inventories of maintenance and grounds equipment and supplies, and advise on needs.
- Keep garage and storage areas organized and maintain maintenance equipment.
- Comply with health and safety laws to ensure safety for all.
- Perform seasonal maintenance and be available for on-call duties as needed.
- Assist in refurbishing community-owned homes.
- Maintain water and sewer lines within the community.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of maintenance experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and insurability.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Possibly need to provide personal tools.
- Physical ability to bend, stretch, walk, and access restricted spaces.
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to chemicals.
