Job summary

Intellectt Inc is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support critical utility systems at an on-site North Carolina facility. The role focuses on the reliable operation and maintenance of chillers, boilers, air handling units, and related utility equipment.

This is a maintenance-focused position rather than a calibration role. The technician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, maintain documentation, and follow established safety and site

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience maintaining utility/HVAC systems on-site.
• Experience with chillers and boilers is required.
• Ability to read P&IDs and equipment manuals.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• On-site North Carolina work location.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily operation of chillers, boilers, and AHUs and record data.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance per procedures.
• Inspect equipment and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Maintain work orders and maintenance docs in CMMS.
• Coordinate with facilities and vendors to ensure reliability.
• Review P&IDs and manuals as needed.
• Follow safety procedures including LOTO.

Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support critical utility systems at an on-site North Carolina facility. The role focuses on the reliable operation and maintenance of chillers, boilers, air handling units, and related utility equipment. This is a maintenance-focused position rather than a calibration role. The technician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, maintain documentation, and follow established safety and site procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the daily operation of chillers, boilers, air handling units, and related utility systems, including recording readings and performance data.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on utility and HVAC equipment in accordance with approved procedures.
• Inspect equipment, identify abnormal operating conditions, and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Perform corrective maintenance and repairs and elevate complex issues when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate work orders, maintenance records, and preventive maintenance documentation in the CMMS.
• Follow applicable safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), and facility policies.
• Coordinate with Facilities, Operations, and external vendors to support equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Review basic P&IDs, schematics, equipment manuals, and related technical documentation as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience maintaining utility, HVAC, or related mechanical systems.
• Working knowledge of chillers, boilers, and air handling equipment.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance and monitoring equipment operation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and become productive with limited supervision after an appropriate site-specific onboarding period.
• Ability to read and interpret basic P&IDs, mechanical schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Commitment to safe work practices and accurate maintenance documentation.
• Ability to work on-site in North Carolina.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in regulated or industrial environments, such as pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or life sciences facilities.
• Experience using CMMS platforms such as Maximo, SAP PM, or Fiix.
• HVAC, boiler operator, or EPA Section 608 certification, where applicable to assigned duties.
• Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS) or Building Management Systems (BMS).

Work Requirements

• On-site position at a North Carolina facility.
• Ability to perform hands-on maintenance activities involving utility and HVAC equipment.
• Ability to follow site safety procedures, including applicable LOTO requirements.
• Ability to complete required documentation and work orders accurately.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Facilities, Operations, Maintenance, and vendors.
