Job summary

Evolving Solution Services in Greenville, NC seeks an HVAC Tech to install, inspect, maintain and repair HVAC systems in manufacturing facilities and data centers. You will read mechanical drawings, perform preventive maintenance, respond to on-site faults, and help improve energy efficiency while following EHS policies.

This role requires a certificate or higher in HVAC and at least two years of related experience, plus willingness to work rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• HVAC certificate or higher required.
• Technical school diploma or associate degree in HVAC or related field.
• Minimum of two years of hands-on HVAC installation, maintenance, or repair.
• Experience in manufacturing facilities, data centers, or cleanrooms preferred.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and HVAC drawings.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, operate, maintain, and repair HVAC systems and related equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to the maintenance schedule, including equipment inspection, cleaning, lubrication, replacement of wear parts, and performance testing.
• Conduct routine inspections of air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, heating, and related mechanical systems, identify abnormalities, and take corrective actions promptly.
• Respond quickly to equipment failures by performing on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and root cause analysis while maintaining accurate maintenance records.
• Monitor HVAC system operating parameters, optimize system performance, improve energy efficiency, and reduce operating costs.
• Develop and update HVAC operating procedures, preventive maintenance procedures, and related technical documentation.
• Maintain accurate equipment maintenance records, inspection reports, and service logs to ensure complete and up-to-date equipment documentation.
• Manage HVAC spare parts inventory, provide recommendations for procurement, establish appropriate safety stock levels, and ensure timely maintenance support.
• Support equipment modification, upgrades, installation, and commissioning projects, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and maintainability.
• Ensure HVAC equipment and related facilities comply with applicable local regulations, environmental requirements, and industry safety standards.
• Strictly follow the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and standard operating procedures to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
• Collaborate effectively with Production, Engineering, Facilities, and external contractors to ensure HVAC systems meet operational and production requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

The HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, operation, inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems and related mechanical equipment. This role ensures that all HVAC equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently while complying with company policies, environmental regulations, and applicable safety standards. The HVAC Technician also supports equipment reliability, energy efficiency, spare parts management, and continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted facility operations. The position requires close collaboration with Engineering, Production, Facilities, and external service providers to maintain a safe and productive working environment.

• Technical school diploma, associate degree, or higher in HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, or repair. Experience in manufacturing facilities, commercial buildings, data centers, or cleanroom environments is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of central air conditioning systems, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), pumps, refrigeration systems, and ventilation systems.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and HVAC system drawings.
• Familiar with preventive maintenance programs and troubleshooting techniques, with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
• HVAC, refrigeration, or other relevant trade certifications/licenses are preferred.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, be on call, and respond to emergency maintenance situations.
