Pay Rate: Starting $17/hr.

Atrium Hospitality is currently recruiting a Maintenance Technician for our Engineering department. Join a team of Embassy Suites employees who are passionate about servicing guests, one another all while taking care of the people who make it happen, our associates. The hotel has 283 suites and has 6000 sq. ft. of event space. It is conveniently located in Norman with less than 30-minute commute to and from the center of Oklahoma City.

Why Engineering & Maintenance?

Are you well-versed in property maintenance, appliance troubleshooting, plumbing, electrical work, or HVAC maintenance? Do you have a drive to develop skills that will come in handy for life? This is the department for you! The primary purpose of the Maintenance Technician is to provide general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, hotel grounds, and public spaces.

Work Performed:

The Maintenance Technician is tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments:

• Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis.
• Complete work orders from guests and hotel associates and record in log.
• Assist in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems, and make minor repairs and/or replacements.
• Make routine repairs on all hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC, hand and power tools and general plumbing systems such as pipelines, toilets, and sinks.
• Service the hotel’s pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters.
• Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters including painting and finishing furniture and fixtures as needed.
• Operate power equipment, hand tools and vehicles associated with ground maintenance, landscaping activities in all seasons, and guest transport as needed.
• Maintain ground equipment and tools in proper working order. Perform minor maintenance and repair on equipment and tools as required.
• Remove trash daily from sidewalks, grounds, landscaping, and parking lots.
• Provide friendly, prompt service for hotel guests and associates in accordance with the Atrium SPIRIT.
• Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
• All other work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position.

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

• Six (6) months of maintenance experience. Specialized experience (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.) as desired per hotel staffing needs.

Preferred Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

Physical:

• Ability to lift, pull and push up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to bend and squat repeatedly.
• Ability to walk and stand for duration of scheduled shift.

Availability:

• Flexible to work day shifts, early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
