About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician with a strong multi-craft skillset to join our team at our aluminum manufacturing facility in Niles, Michigan. This is a 3rd shift position focused on maintaining uptime and addressing reactive maintenance needs. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with both mechanical and electrical systems and is capable of working in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities – First Day Expectations:

• Mechanical work: Replace gearboxes, cylinders, chains, pulleys, and bearings
• Electrical work: Replace relays, rewire 480V systems, and read 3-phase schematics
• Troubleshoot and trace electrical issues using schematics and prints
• Assist lead electrician and perform reactive maintenance on equipment
• Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) when production lines are down

Work Schedule & Expectations:

• Production runs the entire 3rd shift — PMs are performed only when a line is down
• Reactive maintenance is the primary focus of this role
• Training will be provided under the lead electrician
• Some PM responsibilities, with a heavier emphasis on addressing breakdowns

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a multi-craft maintenance role (mechanical and electrical)
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Comfortable working with high voltage (480V) systems
• Strong troubleshooting skills and adaptability
• Willingness to work 3rd shift and respond to reactive maintenance needs
