Job summary

Flaherty & Collins Properties is seeking a Maintenance Technician in New Albany, IN. You will perform routine and preventative maintenance on property systems, troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical issues, and address resident requests to keep units in top condition.

You will collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager, assist with turnovers, and participate in an after-hours on-call rotation. Weekend work may be required and safety standards must be met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• HVAC/EPA certifications or similar credentials are a plus, along with a willingness to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring all property systems and equipment are in good condition.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems as needed.
• Address and resolve resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Conduct property inspections to identify maintenance needs proactively.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager to prioritize and complete work orders.
• Ensure the property meets safety standards and complies with applicable regulations.
• Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist with apartment turnovers and ensure units are move-in ready.
• Respond to emergency maintenance issues, including after-hours calls when necessary.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies; weekend work as needed.
