Job summary

Express Employment Professionals – Appleton, WI is assisting a manufacturing client in filling a Direct Hire Maintenance Technician role. You will perform daily, preventative maintenance on production equipment and respond quickly to breakdowns to minimize downtime.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 10:00pm–6:00am with pay up to $35/hour. Candidates should have 3–5 years of experience, PLC/Allen-Bradley knowledge, and strong mechanical aptitude; overtime may be required for emergencies.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues independently.
• Experience with PLC systems, specifically Allen-Bradley.
• Hands-on experience with extrusion, rewinders, and other converting or plastics-processing equipment.
• Ability to repair and maintain custom-built machinery.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues from start to finish.
• Install, modify, and maintain production machinery, including custom-built equipment.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns quickly to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
• Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Collaborate with production teams to resolve equipment concerns and improve machine performance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and parts usage.
• Follow all safety procedures and ensure equipment is operated and maintained safely.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and equipment upgrades.

• Willingness to work overtime or off‑shifts when required for repairs or emergencies
