Maintenance Technician

Main Duties & Responsibilities

General Description:

Responsible for overall plant preventive & maintenance, including production and facilities primary and secondary equipment, and keeping accurate records. Reads and analyzes equipment issues using prints, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics. Ability to organize and perform maintenance activities in a timely fashion to ensure minimum downtime.

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Performs maintenance on primary and secondary equipment per the PM schedule.
  2. Keeps all equipment maintenance records updated and well organized.
  3. Ability to read blueprints and schematics in order to perform electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs.
  4. Program robots, sprue pickers, etc.
  5. Understanding of electrical, PLC, pneumatic, hydraulic systems and troubleshooting skills to repair them.
  6. Organize projects to meet target completion dates.
  7. Machine installation, power, and cooling systems.
  8. Troubleshoots and repairs high priority production equipment on the plant floor.
  9. Able to disassemble damaged mechanisms to determine extent of troubles.
  10. Able to repair/replace defective parts and reassemble.
  11. Documents changes and provides information for as-built documentation.
  12. Ability to ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities.
  13. Able to lift up to 75 pounds in a safe manner and work safely around associates.
  14. Ability to operate auto crane in a safe efficient manner.
  15. Understanding of compressed air systems, resin dryers, and mold temperature controllers.

Salary: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on experience

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in the injection molding industry.
  • Solid understanding of electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulic prints and schematics.
  • Able to properly use welder, hand, and power tools.
  • Creates and interprets electrical schematics.
  • High School Education or Equivalent (GED).
  • Mechanical skills.
