We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team in McCalla, AL. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience troubleshooting and maintaining plastic injection molding equipment, along with strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills.
This position is ideal for a technician who enjoys solving complex equipment issues, performing preventive maintenance, and keeping production equipment running safely and efficiently in a fast‑paced automotive manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on production equipment and document findings.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics.
- Troubleshoot basic control circuits and integrated circuits.
- Wire and troubleshoot control circuits operating at 24 VDC, 120/240 VAC, and 480 VAC.
- Size and install motor starters, overloads, contactors, and related components.
- Install, set up, and troubleshoot VFDs and motor controls.
- Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot plastic injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Perform basic machine shop tasks, including drilling, tapping, cutting, and threading pipe.
- Use hand tools, power tools, drills, lathes, and milling machines as needed.
- Bend conduit and pull/install electrical wiring.
- Support plant and building maintenance, including lighting, compressors, and emergency lighting.
- Maintain machine functionality and minimize equipment downtime.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Work effectively as part of a team in a high-demand manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance or engineering experience.
- 1–3+ years of automotive manufacturing experience.
- Hands‑on experience with plastic injection molding equipment is required.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and schematic-reading skills.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience troubleshooting basic electrical control circuits.
- Ability to work with 24 VDC, 120/240 VAC, and 480 VAC systems.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
