Job summary

Nashoba is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Littleton, MA focused on oil-specific service and maintenance to start, with growth into other HVAC areas.

You will service oil-fired furnaces, boilers and water heaters, diagnose, perform burner tune-ups, communicate findings to homeowners, and maintain safety and efficiency while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of oil trade experience.
• Massachusetts Oil Burner Technician License required.
• Experience servicing oil-fired furnaces, boilers and water heaters.
• Experience with Beckett, Riello and Carlin burners.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, service and repairs on oil-fired furnaces, boilers and water heaters.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot oil heating systems.
• Service and maintain Beckett, Riello and Carlin oil burners.
• Perform oil burner cleanings, tune-ups and preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and combustion-related issues.
• Identify problems and recommend repair or replacement options.
• Complete repairs safely, correctly and efficiently.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly with homeowners.
• Provide professional customer service from start to finish.
• Maintain accurate job notes and documentation.
• Keep your truck, tools and work area clean and organized.
• Follow company safety procedures and industry best practices.
• Continue developing your HVAC knowledge through hands‑on experience and training.

What You’ll Do

• Perform maintenance, service and repairs on oil-fired furnaces, boilers and water heaters

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in the oil trade
• Massachusetts Oil Burner Technician License required
• Hands‑on experience servicing and maintaining oil‑fired furnaces, boilers and water heaters
• Experience with Beckett, Riello and Carlin oil burners required
• Strong oil diagnostics and troubleshooting skills
• Experience performing oil maintenance and tune‑ups
• Own tools necessary to perform oil service and maintenance, or the ability and willingness to acquire the tools needed
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Available Monday–Friday, approximately 40–50 hours per week
• Dependable, professional and able to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• A willingness to learn and continue developing your HVAC skills

HVAC experience is a plus, but not required.

Experience with the following is preferred:

• Natural gas
• Propane
• Air conditioning
• Heat pumps
• Mini‑splits

The ideal candidate is a newer technician who is hungry to grow, eager to learn and wants to broaden their HVAC knowledge. You should be comfortable knowing that your work will be primarily oil‑specific to start, with opportunities to expand into other areas as you develop.
