Job summary

Townsend Energy is seeking an HVAC Service - Maintenance Technician to support residential and light commercial systems in Massachusetts. The role involves troubleshooting, service, repair, and maintenance with AC, oil, and propane experience, across 1st/2nd shifts and weekends. A take-home company vehicle is provided.

Ideal candidates have EPA Universal Certification, valid driver’s license, and willingness to pass background checks; relocation assistance is available for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Residential HVAC service experience required.
• AC service experience and general maintenance experience.
• EPA Universal Certification is preferred or required.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and blueprints.
• Valid driver’s license with insurable record.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, diagnostics, service, repair, and maintenance of residential and light commercial HVAC equipment.
• AC service, repair, and maintenance.
• Working with oil, propane, natural gas, and electric HVAC systems.
• Propane and electric heating/air conditioning systems, heat pumps, ductless systems, and boilers.
• Providing excellent customer service and explaining options to homeowners.
• Consulting with homeowners on system replacements and repairs.
• Contacting tech support for diagnostics when needed.
• Daily use of tablet for job documentation.

HVAC Service - Maintenance Technician | $32.00 to $50.00 per hour, depending on experience and shift

Pay Range:

• 1st Shift | $32.00 to $45.00 + per hour, depending on individuals' capabilities
• 2nd Shift | $38.00 - $50.00 per hour | must have AC, oil & propane experience
• Weekends Only | $32.00 - $40.00 per hour, depending on individuals' capabilities

Work Schedule:

• 1st Shift | 7:30am - 4:00pm | Monday to Friday
• 2nd Shift | 3:00pm - 11:00pm | Monday to Friday
• Weekends Only | 7:00am - 5:00pm | Saturday & Sunday

Danvers and Newburyport MA

Job Duties:

• Troubleshooting, diagnostics, service, repair, and maintenance of residential and light commercial HVAC equipment
• AC service, repair, and maintenacne
• Working with oil, propane, natural gas, and electric HVAC systems
• Propane and electric heating/air conditioning systems, heat pumps, ductless systems, and boilers

• Consulting with and educating homeowners on systems and products
• Ability to contact tech support with diagnostic questions

• MA or NH Oil License - Desired, training provided
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certificate from a HVAC Technical School - Desired
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
