Job summary

Merlin Entertainments is seeking a Facilities Technician (Part Time) for SEALIFE Kansas City. You will maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, electronic and plumbing systems, and support themed attractions to maximize guest experience.

The role covers custodial tasks, AV upkeep, light installations, exhibit setup/breakdown, and routine preventive maintenance with safety as a priority. Weekend availability preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least two years of maintenance experience preferred.
• At least two years in a technical/themed service environment (animation, automation, hydraulics, pneumatic, electrical/electronics, networks).
• Experience maintaining flexibility and high level of service.
• Weekend availability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, electronic, and plumbing systems and themed attractions.
• Hire contractors for necessary repairs and ensure minimal downtime.
• Perform custodial duties, lighting, painting, exhibit setup and takedown, and AV equipment maintenance.
• Install/replace bulbs, doors, projector lamps; troubleshoot attraction systems and equipment.
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks and safety inspections.
• Set up data cables and repair computer outlets and bundles.

Facilities Technician (Part Time) - SEALIFE Kansas City

• Maintain and troubleshoot all areas of the attraction including HVAC, electrical, electronic, and plumbing systems as well as themed attractions, hiring contractors for necessary repairs.
• Apply hands‑on knowledge and experience to tackle problems to sustain minimal downtime of themed attractions for the maximum guest experience.
• Position functions will include but not limited to custodial duties, re-lamping & lighting systems, painting and wall repair, tech equipment, shipping and receiving as well as exhibit setup and takedown. Maintaining and troubleshooting Audio Visual equipment for both old and new exhibits.
• Install and/or replace light bulbs, projector lamps, doors, etc.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain attraction systems, rides, and equipment.
• Perform work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments.
• Troubleshoot, repair, or replace control devices.
• Repair and/or paint interior walls, hang pictures; assemble furniture.
• Set-up and install data cables as needed; install and repair computer outlets and computer bundles.
• Monitor and maintain all building systems as assigned. Corrects or reports any safety or fire hazards.
• Observes safe working practices, including maintaining storage areas clean, organized and in safe condition.
• Able to set‑up and operate various hand tools and power equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

Qualifications & Experience

High School diploma or GED required

At least two years of maintenance experience preferred

At least two years of service industry experience in a technical/themed environment to include animation, automation, hydraulics, pneumatic, electrical/electronics, and networks.

Experience of maintaining flexibility and the highest level of service.

Weekend availability preferred

Pay Range

USD $18.00/Hr.
