Job summary

Merlin's SEALIFE Kansas City is seeking a Facilities Technician (Part Time) to maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, electronic, plumbing, and themed attraction systems. You will manage repairs, install and service AV equipment, perform routine preventative maintenance, and support exhibit setup and takedown in a fast-paced guest-focused environment.

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least two years of maintenance experience.
• At least two years of service industry experience in a technical/themed environment including animation, automation, hydraulics, pneumatic, electrical/electronics, and networks.
• Weekend availability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, electronic, and plumbing systems and themed attractions, coordinating with contractors as needed.
• Tackle problems to minimize downtime for maximum guest experience.
• Perform custodial duties, lighting, painting, exhibit setup/takedown, and AV equipment maintenance.
• Install/replace light bulbs, projector lamps, doors, etc.
• Troubleshoot, repair, or replace attraction systems and equipment.
• Carry out preventative maintenance tasks on schedule.
• Set up data cables and computer outlets/bundles; monitor building systems and report hazards.
• Ensure safe work practices and maintain clean, organized storage areas.

What you'll bring to the team

Facilities Technician (Part Time) - SEALIFE Kansas City

What You'll Do:

• Maintain and troubleshoot all areas of the attraction including HVAC, electrical, electronic, and plumbing systems as well as themed attractions, hiring contractors for necessary repairs.
• Apply hands-on knowledge and experience to tackle problems to sustain minimal downtime of themed attractions for the maximum guest experience.
• Position functions will include but not limited to custodial duties, re-lamping & lighting systems, painting and wall repair, tech equipment, shipping and receiving as well as exhibit setup and takedown. Maintaining and troubleshooting Audio Visual equipment for both old and new exhibits.
• Install and/or replace light bulbs, projector lamps, doors, etc.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain attraction systems, rides, and equipment.
• Perform work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments.
• Troubleshoot, repair, or replace control devices.
• Complete “Preventative Maintenance” tasks (Daily, Weekly, Bi-Weekly, Monthly, etc.).
• Repair and/or paint interior walls, hang pictures; assemble furniture.
• Set-up and install data cables as needed; install and repair computer outlets and computer bundles.
• Monitor and maintain all building systems as assigned. Corrects or reports any safety or fire hazards.
• Observes safe working practices, including maintaining storage areas clean, organized and in safe condition.
• Able to set-up and operate various hand tools and power equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience of maintaining flexibility and the highest level of service.

Pay Range

USD $18.00/Hr.
