Medical Behavioral Hospital of Clear Lake, TX is seeking a maintenance technician to serve our patients at our hospital. Our maintenance technicians are committed to servicing, maintaining, and repairing our hospital to ensure a safe, clean, and fully operational environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include:

  • Repair and maintain HVAC equipment, including filter replacements, coil cleaning, and operational checks.
  • Maintain plumbing systems, including plunging, snake drains, and replacing batteries in faucets.
  • Maintain electrical systems, such as replacing bulbs, fixtures, and ballasts.
  • Inspect building grounds daily, repair mechanical systems, and maintain landscaping as needed.
  • Inspect and repair rooms, including drywall and fixtures.
  • Conduct monthly fire drills and maintain documentation in accordance with standards.
  • Perform semi-annual disaster drills and monthly generator and fire extinguisher tests, with proper documentation.
  • Maintain documentation for fire alarm testing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of general building maintenance experience required.
  • Experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems preferred.
  • Healthcare setting experience, especially in psychiatric hospitals, is strongly preferred.
  • Punctual, detail-oriented, and dependable.
  • Valid driver’s license verified upon hire.
