Job summary

Indus Management Group in Houston is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the Property Manager in efficient maintenance operations, focusing on HVAC systems. You will install, inspect, and service heating, cooling and ventilation, and help manage inventory and safety standards on distressed multifamily properties.

On-call as needed, with opportunities to lead maintenance teams and ensure tickets are completed with high quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Associate's HVAC degree preferred.
  • Two years of HVAC experience in multi-family/residential required.
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification; HVAC Type (1) License preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Must be willing to work on call as needed.
  • Install, inspect, and service heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to extend system longevity.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC system issues and repair damages.
  • Supervise electrical issues at the property when needed.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and HVAC resources.
  • Train and develop maintenance staff for future growth.

Indus Management Group is a property management company in Houston specializing in renovating and restoring distressed multifamily properties. With our first acquisition in 2002, Indus Management Group currently manages 38 apartment complexes in the Houston area. We specialize in the Class B & C property space, with approximately 11,000 units under management. Our goal has always been and continues to be to convert distressed properties into uplifted communities.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician supports the Property Manager in the efficient management of all maintenance-related work on the property. They also repair and monitor all AC-related issues and ensure inventory is stocked and tracked. At leadership discretion, at times, they may lead the maintenance team by ensuring tickets are completed in a timely manner with the highest quality.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: An associate's degree from an HVAC program preferred
  • Experience: Two (2) years of HVAC experience in the multi‑family/residential industry required
  • License/Certification: Valid state driver’s license, EPA 608 Universal Certification. Preferably HVAC Type (1) License.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • English/Spanish fluency
  • Basic computer and smartphone skills
  • Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Must always demonstrate professional and respectful behavior
  • Demonstrates the ability to influence and lead others to get work accomplished
  • Must be able to lift, pull, push, and carry at least 50 pounds
Requirements
Principal Responsibilities

  • Works within the safety guidelines outlined by the Maintenance Manager /or the Company
  • Supports, trains, and develops maintenance employees and teams for future growth
  • Other duties as assigned
