Maintenance Technician

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to support a major pharmaceutical manufacturing project in Holly Springs, NC. This position plays a critical role in preparing and energizing Direct Impact Systems for Commissioning and Qualification following Mechanical Completion.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with mechanical aptitude who enjoy hands‑on work, troubleshooting equipment, and working alongside engineers in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. We are open to both experienced technicians and candidates with a few years of related experience who are eager to learn and grow.
Responsibilities
- Support Set‑to‑Work (STW) activities to safely energize Direct Impact Systems for the first time
- Execute STW protocols alongside engineering and project teams
- Prepare tools, equipment, and resources required to meet project schedules
- Perform system walkdowns using P&IDs to verify equipment and system readiness
- Assist with startup activities for bioreactors, water systems, preparation tanks, and other process equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform corrective work as needed
- Repair leaks, secure valves, and address system deficiencies before commissioning
- Support calibration and field activities required for system functionality
- Work closely with engineers, technicians, and commissioning teams to ensure systems are ready for qualification
- Follow all site safety procedures and GMP requirements
- Operate lifts and other equipment safely (training provided)
Qualifications
Required
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform hands‑on technical work
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs
- Understanding of industrial piping systems and mechanical equipment
- Strong commitment to safety and quality
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including climbing ladders, using lifts, and working around industrial equipment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred
- Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or manufacturing experience
- Experience supporting commissioning, startup, maintenance, or construction activities
- Familiarity with process equipment such as bioreactors, water systems, pumps, valves, or tanks
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems
- Understanding of calibration activities and process systems
Education & Experience
- No degree required
- Open to candidates with a few years of relevant experience as well as experienced maintenance technicians
- Technical training, military experience, trade school, industrial maintenance, or related backgrounds are highly valued
