Job summary

Coastal Community Action is seeking a Maintenance Tech to join our team in eastern North Carolina. You will perform on-site maintenance, repairs, and basic building systems upkeep to ensure safe, functional facilities for our programs serving low-income families.

The role requires hands-on experience in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and general facilities care. We offer full-time employment with comprehensive benefits and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of related maintenance experience, including construction.
  • First Aid and CPR certification, or the ability to acquire certification within 60 days of employment.
  • Valid background clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Complete any needed maintenance as directed in accordance with OSHA safety regulations.
  • Monitor condition of facilities and perform repairs on the spot when possible, making recommendations for contracting when necessary.
  • Maintain and repair building plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches, fuses and bulbs.
  • Maintain inventory of tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Perform carpentry duties such as painting, furniture assembly and repair; move furniture and other equipment as necessary; adjust air vents and air handling filters; repair faucets and toilet valves.
  • Conduct inventories of equipment, supplies, and products.
  • Be responsible for the upkeep of playground and other outside child activity spaces.
