Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment including plastic injection molding machines and facility infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues to minimize downtime.
• Inspect machinery to identify potential problems and address them before escalation.
• Assist with installation of new equipment and relocation of existing machinery.
• Comply with safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with production to address equipment issues and implement solutions.
• Provide advanced technical knowledge and support to manufacturing teams.

Primary Function

The maintenance technician is essential to sustaining smooth, efficient production operations by ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing downtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on all manufacturing equipment including but not limited to plastic injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment (i.e. chillers, dryers, grinders) and facility infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues on production equipment promptly to minimize downtime.
• Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to identify and address potential problems before they escalated.
• Assist with the installation of new equipment and the relocation of existing machinery.
• Adhere to all safety protocol and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce operational costs.
• Collaborate with production personnel to identify and address equipment issues and implement solutions.
• Supports manufacturing teams with advanced technical knowledge and solutions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; Associate degree or applicable certification preferred.
• Vocational school or junior technical college training in applicable technical areas.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience; experience in an injection molding or plastic manufacturing environment highly preferred.
• Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems common with industrial machines.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
