Pme-the-Apartment-Gallery in Hagerstown, MD seeks a full-time Maintenance/Handyman to service multiple apartment communities. HVAC experience and own hand tools are required; EPA certification preferred. This role covers on-call rotation and requires reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge and experience, with diagnostic and repair skills in appliances, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and painting.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record and background check.
• Access to reliable transportation and flexible hours; on-call rotation participation.
• Must provide basic hand tools and be willing to work with confidential information.
• EPA 608 Certification Type I and II preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance of apartments, buildings, common areas and grounds via service requests or management directions.
• Inspect property for cleanliness, trash, and report lease violations to Property Manager.
• Perform seasonal grounds duties as needed.
• Participate in apartment turn-key processes and preventative maintenance programs.
• Contribute to organization and inventory control of maintenance shop and storage, focusing on safety and keys.
• Care for and inventory company-owned equipment.
• Apply safety standards and practices in maintenance operations.
• Communicate professionally with residents, vendors and staff.
• Wear required safety equipment as tasks dictate.
• Assist team members and handle other duties as assigned.

Description

Our ideal candidate will not just have the required skills but will be a true team player. Sign-on bonus of $500 after 30 days of employment.

This position will serve multiple apartment communities in Hagerstown, MD and the surrounding area totaling 979 units. This position requires a week of on-call every six weeks.

HVAC Experience Required. HVAC EPA Certification preferred or ability to obtain certification within a timeframe agreed up on at the time of hire. Must have your own hand tools.

Requirements

• Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of apartments, buildings, common areas and grounds through Service Requests or direction by Management
• Inspect property for cleanliness, trash removal, abandoned vehicles etc. and report suspected lease violations to Property Manager
• Perform seasonal grounds duties as needed
• Participate in apartment turn-key process and preventative maintenance programs
• Contribute to the organization and inventory control of the Maintenance Shop and other storage areas, with emphasis on safety concerns and unit keys
• Participate in the care, maintenance, and inventory of all company owned equipment
• Application of all safety standards and practices associated with maintenance operations
• Effectively communicate with residents, vendors and other employees in a professional and courteous manner
• Wear appropriate safety equipment as tasks dictate
• Assist other team members and complete other projects and duties as assigned

Summary

Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
