Leggett & Platt, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician in Grand Rapids, MI. The technician will inspect machinery, repair electrical and mechanical parts, and operate tools like welders.
A high school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of relevant experience are required. The position includes operating forklifts and working at heights, so candidates must meet certain physical demands.

Shift: 2pm – 12am, Monday through Thursday, with Friday for as‑needed overtime.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); a minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. We will consider applicants with an Industrial Maintenance Certificate, journeyman certificate, etc.
Ability to read and analyze professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in English. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to use basic geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
