Job summary

Aerotek seeks a Maintenance Technician for a night-shift role in Golden, CO. You will troubleshoot, repair, and optimize mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, and electrical systems in a high-volume plant environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years as an industrial maintenance technician in manufacturing.
  • Experience repairing roller conveyors, gear boxes, motors.
  • Proficient with pneumatic and hydraulic systems diagnostics and repair.
  • Electrical maintenance on 3-phase, 480V systems.
  • Familiar with reading mechanical/electrical schematics.

  • Weld and machine for light fabrication and repair as needed.
  • Read prints and schematics to identify issues and determine repair methods.
  • Troubleshoot conveyor systems to ensure reliable material handling.
  • Document maintenance activities and communicate status and improvements.

Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

This role focuses on troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, adjusting, replacing, and installing plant mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, and electrical systems and components for all plant equipment in a high-volume, continuous-run manufacturing environment. You will perform fabrication of equipment and parts through welding and machining, read and interpret prints and manuals, and ensure all parts and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained. The position is approximately 90% mechanical maintenance and 10% electrical maintenance, with occasional light welding and machining work.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, and electrical systems on plant equipment in a high-volume, continuous-run manufacturing environment.
  • Adjust, replace, and install mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, and electrical components to keep production equipment operating safely and efficiently.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on industrial equipment, including roller conveyors and related machinery, to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Conduct mechanical repairs on gear boxes, motors, conveyors, and other industrial equipment, ensuring proper alignment, lubrication, and operation.
  • Carry out electrical maintenance tasks, including work on 3-phase, 480V systems, following appropriate safety procedures and standards.
  • Perform light welding and machining work as needed to fabricate or repair equipment and parts, including MIG and stick welding when applicable.
  • Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and equipment prints, manuals, and schematics to identify issues and determine appropriate repair methods.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain conveyor systems and related equipment, ensuring smooth and reliable material handling operations.
  • Clean and prepare parts and components during repair and maintenance activities to ensure proper fit, function, and longevity.
  • Support troubleshooting of PLC-controlled equipment and read electrical schematics, if experienced at a higher electrical skill level.
  • Document maintenance activities as required and communicate equipment issues, repair status, and improvement opportunities to the maintenance team.
  • Work collaboratively with a tight-knit maintenance team to support continuous plant operations and respond to equipment issues as they arise.
  • Be available to work required shifts, including rotating Saturday coverage and extended hours during peak seasons, especially around holidays.
Essential Skills
  • At least 5+ years of experience as an industrial maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience performing mechanical repairs on industrial equipment, including roller conveyors, gear boxes, and motors.
  • Strong experience in pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of components.
  • Experience performing electrical maintenance on industrial equipment, including working with 3-phase, 480V power systems.
  • Proficiency in preventive maintenance practices for industrial and manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues in a high-volume, continuous-run environment.
  • Capability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical prints, manuals, and schematics.
  • Basic welding skills and familiarity with MIG and stick welding techniques for light fabrication and repair work.
  • Ability to perform light machining work to fabricate or modify equipment parts as needed.
  • Willingness and ability to work third shift (Monday–Friday, 10:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m.) with a paid 30-minute lunch and every other Saturday as required.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours and weekends, especially around holidays during busy seasons.
  • Comfort working in a heavy industrial box plant environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with corrugated machine equipment or prior work in a box plant environment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with conveyor maintenance and troubleshooting in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and the ability to read detailed electrical schematics for candidates with a higher electrical skill level.
  • Knowledge of variable frequency drives (VFDs) and their application in industrial equipment is beneficial.
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit maintenance team and build strong working relationships over time.

Work Environment

This position is based in a heavy industrial box plant environment with a high-volume, continuous-run manufacturing operation. You will work primarily on third shift, Monday through Friday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with a paid 30-minute lunch break. Every other Saturday, you will typically work from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., and additional Saturday or holiday work may be required during peak seasons. The plant operates a variety of industrial equipment, including corrugated machinery, conveyors, gear boxes, motors, and other mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. The maintenance team is close-knit, with many team members having worked together for years, fostering a collaborative and supportive work culture. The environment is industrial and hands-on, with an emphasis on safety, reliability, and teamwork.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Golden, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
