Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Lincoln, NE to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and high-pressure systems in a refrigerated environment.

The role emphasizes diagnosing issues with AC/DC equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and documentation standards. This is an onsite contract position with shift-based duties.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical equipment, including controls, sensors, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, and timers.
  • Inspect, repair, and replace mechanical components such as motors, drive chains, sprockets, pulleys, belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
  • Repair and maintain high‑pressure pasteurization equipment for safe operation.
  • Inspect and service pneumatic/hydraulic systems, seals, air compressors, pumps, hoses, and cylinders.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on conveyors, HVAC systems, pumps, heat exchangers, evaporators, and fans.
  • Read and interpret schematics to support troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Apply PLC knowledge to assist with basic PLC troubleshooting and automated equipment operation.
  • Maintain documentation per the facility’s Document Control Policy.

Job description

Maintenance Technician - $30+/Hour

The Maintenance Technician supports safe and reliable plant operations by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and high- pressure systems in a refrigerated production environment. This role focuses on diagnosing issues with AC and DC equipment, performing preventive maintenance on plant machinery, and ensuring that all work complies with health, safety, cleanliness, and documentation standards.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical equipment, including controls, proximity sensors, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, and timers.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical components such as motors, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
  • Repair and maintain high-pressure pasteurization equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace pneumatic and related equipment, including hydronic and hydraulic seals, high-pressure components, air compressors, pumps, hoses, and cylinders.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections on plant equipment such as conveyors, water heaters, HVAC systems, water pumps, heat exchangers, evaporators, fans, and powered industrial equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics to support accurate troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Apply PLC knowledge to assist with basic PLC troubleshooting and support automated equipment operation.
  • Follow the facility’s Document Control Policy after completing required training, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of maintenance activities.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and cleanliness standards while performing maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality in an hourly, shift-based role.
  • Handle minor tasks and additional duties related to maintenance operations as needed to support overall plant performance.
Skills
  • At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience in a plant or similar environment.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing AC and DC electrical equipment, including motors, controls, and related components.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs and basic PLC troubleshooting in an industrial setting.
  • Experience with AC/DC motors and 3-phase electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in mechanical maintenance, including work on motors, drive chains, sprockets, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including seals, high-pressure components, air compressors, pumps, hoses, and cylinders.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial equipment such as conveyors, HVAC systems, pumps, heat exchangers, evaporators, and fans.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Commitment to following health, safety, and cleanliness standards in a production environment.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality in a shift-based role.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
