Express Employment Professionals in Elgin, IL is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for coverage due to an employee's leave. The assignment is temporary with about a 50/50 chance of becoming permanent.

Candidates should have strong industrial maintenance experience and be able to read, write, and understand English. Responsibilities include machine setup, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on production equipment, along with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC repairs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
• 3-5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing environments preferred.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance required.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills including hydraulics and pneumatics.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on production and packaging equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Conduct facility maintenance including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building repairs.
• Complete preventive maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime and maintain performance standards.
• Maintain required maintenance documentation and follow safety and cGMP procedures.

Pay Rate: $30.00-$35.00/hour

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to provide coverage for an employee currently out on a Workers' Compensation leave. While the assignment is initially temporary, there is approximately a 50/50 possibility that the opportunity could become permanent. The ideal candidate will have strong industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment and the ability to read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on production and packaging equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Conduct facility maintenance including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building repairs.

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills including hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, bearings, conveyors, and related systems.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting skills, including the ability to read schematics and use testing equipment; PLC experience is a plus.
