Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to minimize downtime.
• Read schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals to diagnose equipment issues.
• Support mold changeovers, production startups, and emergency equipment repairs as needed.
• Assist with facility maintenance, utility systems, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician - Plastic Injection Molding
City and State: Elgin, IL
Pay Rate:$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Schedule/Shift: 1st Shift
Employment Type: Full-Time

Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on plastic injection molding equipment and facility systems. This role supports production efficiency, equipment reliability, and workplace safety in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals to diagnose equipment issues.
• Support mold changeovers, production startups, and emergency equipment repairs as needed.
• Assist with facility maintenance, utility systems, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably plastic injection molding.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently.
• Experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and automated equipment systems.
• Valid Illinois Driver's License and ability to safely operate maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment.
