Job summary

Titus Talent Strategies partners with a central Illinois manufacturer to hire an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for Auburn, IL. This hands-on role covers electrical, mechanical, and automation systems within a stable, growth-focused environment.

Ideal candidates have 3–10 years of maintenance experience, PLC troubleshooting, and CMMS familiarity. Welding/electrical certs are preferred; valid DL and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required. Starting pay is $25-$35/hour with benefits.

Qualifications

• 3–10 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and industrial controls knowledge.
• PLC programming/troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley/Siemens).
• Welding and electrical certifications preferred; on-the-job experience considered.

Job description

Our partner, a well-established manufacturer in central Illinois, is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join their team. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for a skilled tradesperson who wants to work across electrical, mechanical, and automation systems in a stable, growth-oriented environment.

What You'll Do:

• Install, maintain, and care for all production-related equipment
• Set up production lines and troubleshoot machine problems
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and material handling systems
• Support building, electrical, and plumbing maintenance functions
• Maintain machinery, parts, spare parts, and hand tools across departments
• Respond to work order requests in a timely manner
• Identify and repair safety issues
• Take on other maintenance duties as needed

What They're Looking For:

• 3-10 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred, with strong advanced electrical troubleshooting and industrial controls experience
• Extensive PLC experience - troubleshooting, programming, modifications, and diagnostics (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms preferred)
• Welding certification preferred; relevant on-the-job experience also considered
• Electrical certification preferred; relevant on-the-job experience also considered
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, VFDs, HMIs, sensors, relays, safety circuits, and industrial automation
• Ability to read and troubleshoot electrical schematics, ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience maintaining, repairing, and improving production equipment
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, electrical test equipment, and precision measuring instruments
• Experience with preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements
• Comfortable working independently and prioritizing across multiple tasks
• Strong safety mindset, including lockout/tagout compliance
• Experience with CMMS software
• Physically able to work in an industrial environment, including standing, lifting, climbing, and exposure to heat, noise, and dust

Additional Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the Auburn, IL area
• Willingness to work afternoon or overnight shifts, overtime, and on-call as needed
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds overhead and stand for extended periods
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and highly organized
