Job summary

Linde Gas & Equipment in Durham, NC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to uphold safety, quality, and compliance while maintaining and repairing high‑pressure gas systems. You will install, start up, and decommission equipment, and coordinate preventive maintenance on compressors and related process equipment.

The role requires forklift certification, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Oversee contractor safety programs and Process Safety Mechanical Integrity at the location.
• Assist in developing and reviewing SOPs to improve safety and efficiency.
• Use hand and portable power tools following safe work practices during repairs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety, quality, and compliance activities at customer installations through site inspections and maintenance.
• Install, start up, and decommission high‑pressure and acetylene supply systems including compressors, purifiers, and filling manifolds.
• Coordinate and perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance and adjustments on process equipment such as centrifugal and reciprocating compressors.
• Monitor parts availability, replenish supplies, and manage physical inventory control.
• Troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions and perform repairs efficiently.
• Oversee contractor safety programs and the location’s Process Safety Mechanical Integrity Program.
• Assist in developing and reviewing standard operating procedures to improve operational safety and efficiency.
• Utilize hand and portable power tools while following safe working practices during equipment repair and maintenance.
