Job description

Maintenance Technician (JR100694) Durham, North Carolina

How you’ll make an impact :

  • Assist residents and your maintenance team.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by completing service requests.
  • Proactively identify and address potential liabilities.

What you’ll do:

  • Complete service requests such as changing lightbulbs, unclogging pipes, fixing faucets, changing locks, and interior/exterior painting.
  • Assist with trash outs and unit turns; inspect appliances, HVAC systems, and safety devices.
  • Perform plumbing repairs, replace water heaters, clear drain lines, and replace worn parts.
  • Replace exterior light bulbs and fixtures promptly.
  • Carry out carpentry repairs including cabinets, screens, locks, and drywall.
  • Handle mechanical repairs and appliance diagnostics.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks like painting, flooring, landscaping, and debris removal.
  • Conduct electrical repairs and HVAC servicing, including installing and repairing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair unit controls, thermostats, and safety valves.
  • Perform electrical maintenance and connect motors and control panels as needed.

Our Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday; 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday; closed on Sunday. The role requires working any day of the week, with on-call duties for emergencies.

Physical Demands:

  • Walk continuously for 8+ hours daily.
  • Move boxes up to 50 lbs and appliances up to 100 lbs.
  • Climb, stoop, bend, and grasp objects.
  • Visual acuity for detailed inspections and operating machinery.
  • Remain stationary for most of the workday.
