Job summary

Responsibilities

Job Overview

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining small to medium‑sized buildings, industrial systems, and equipment. This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and other building systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems, and make repairs.
• Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
• Review assigned work orders and partner with available systems to track completion.
• Support energy management by ensuring all building systems are operating efficiently.
• Inspect existing installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems.
• Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job‑related experience; alternatively, a combination of experience and education.
• Commercial/Industrial experience with at least 5 years of experience.
• Must have skills: Commercial / Industrial experience.
• Nice to have skills: Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Soft skills: Ability to follow basic work routines and standards, strong organizational skills, inquisitive mindset.
• Physical requirements: stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Technical skills: Ability to use CMMS system, Email, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Will report to Hard Services Supervisor. Team consists of Maintenance Mechanics, HVAC Techs, Plumbers, and Electricians.

Experience and Education

5 years of experience. High School Diploma / GED.

Assignment Duration: 5 months with possible extension; potential conversion to FTE.
