Job summary

Clemson University in Columbia, SC seeks a Regular FTE Staff Building/Grounds maintenance professional to assist with complex repairs across campus facilities. You will operate heavy equipment, perform carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing tasks and help manage grounds and agricultural operations at Sandhill REC.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and related trade training; prior experience with maintenance, safety procedures, and teamwork is essential.

Responsibilities

• 40% - Perform complex maintenance and repairs in carpentry, masonry, electricity, HVAC, roof, plumbing and boiler operation.
• 10% - Assist with overall management of agriculture research and extension functions.
• 10% - Clean main office facilities and meeting spaces as directed.
• 40% - Operate and maintain grounds: grass cutting, limb and tree removal, trash pickup, road grading, and related tasks.

Operates and assists with maintaining heavy equipment for management of grounds and facilities. Assist with overall management of agriculture and natural resources operations at Sandhill REC. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Duties

40% - Performs complex maintenance and repair tasks in such areas as carpentry, masonry, electricity, HVAC, roof, plumbing and boiler operation. Makes emergency and general repairs and adjustments to equipment used in building and maintenance work. Maintains outbuildings, field facilities, storage sheds, office areas. 10% - Assist with overall management of agriculture research and extension functions. 10% - Responsible for cleaning main office facilities, all meeting space at Sandhill REC as determined by supervisor. Other duties as assigned directly related to the mission of Sandhill REC 40% - Operates heavy and light equipment and responsible for maintenance of all areas of the grounds such as grass cutting, limb and tree trimming and removal, trash pickup , road grading etc.

Minimum Requirements

Expected Salary Range 65000 - 75000

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

Essential Personnel Level

Emergency Response - In the event of an emergency closure or modified operations, this position is required to respond in order to provide the University's initial response to the emergency situation, including the execution of mission essential functions. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on call.
