Job summary

Staffmark Group in Claymont, DE is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Commercial Facilities) for a direct-hire, daytime schedule (Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM). You will perform preventative maintenance on plumbing, HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems and document work orders.

The role requires strong hands-on experience with plumbing (ProPress), general facility upkeep, safety compliance, and the ability to read work orders and technical docs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Technical training in maintenance, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, or a related trade is a plus.
• Ability to read work orders, maintenance schedules, and technical documentation.

Job description

Maintenance Technician (Commercial Facilities) - Direct Hire

Location: Claymont, DE

Shift: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-4:00 PM

Pay: $20.00-$25.00/hour

Job Duties

• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, including leaks, drains, fixtures, piping, and water distribution systems.
• Utilize ProPress equipment for plumbing installations and repairs.
• Conduct general building maintenance, including repairs to walls, ceilings, flooring, doors, windows, cabinetry, and framing.
• Perform painting, touch-up work, and facility improvement projects as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment and building systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Follow all safety procedures and company maintenance standards.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Technical training in maintenance, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, or a related trade is a plus.
• Ability to read work orders, maintenance schedules, and technical documentation.

Experience Requirements

• Multiple years of commercial building maintenance or facilities maintenance experience required.
• Strong hands-on plumbing experience, including repairs, installations, and troubleshooting.
• Experience operating and installing piping systems using a ProPress tool required.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical systems, welding, or mechanical maintenance is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize maintenance tasks effectively.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various facility environments.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
