Job summary

Liberty Resources in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team. The role focuses on general upkeep, preventative maintenance, and responding to repair requests to keep agency buildings and grounds safe and functional.

This on-site position offers use of an agency vehicle and phone, plus a competitive benefits and PTO package, with a schedule that includes on-call duties and winter snow removal.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant maintenance experience required.
• Valid NYS driver’s license required; reliable transportation necessary. Use of a personal vehicle may be required for regional travel.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to use computer systems for timekeeping and work order processing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with knowledge of OSHA codes, safety practices, and general electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with timely upkeep of residential and non-residential properties, including painting, cleaning, repairs, construction, and remodeling, in accordance with agency standards and National Home Builders Association guidelines.
• Perform and document work order requests, including troubleshooting and repairing minor plumbing, mechanical, and electrical issues.
• Support security and safety across agency properties for residents, tenants, coworkers, vendors, and the public.
• Assist with snow removal during winter months to ensure safe access to buildings and grounds.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to respond to after-hours and weekend emergency maintenance needs.
• Perform general maintenance tasks including interior and exterior cleaning, debris removal, lawn care (mowing and trimming), carpet cleaning, painting, sheetrock repair, woodworking, window repair, and minor electrical and plumbing repairs.

Maintenance Technician Job Summary
