Job summary

Liberty Resources, a growing Syracuse-based non-profit human services agency, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team in Syracuse, NY.

The role covers upkeep, repairs, and preventative maintenance across agency buildings and grounds, with duties including painting, plumbing, electrical work, snow removal, and on-call rotations; the position includes use of an agency vehicle and agency phone and a competitive benefits and PTO package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant maintenance experience required.
• Valid NYS driver’s license required; reliable transportation may be required for regional travel.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to use computer systems for timekeeping and work order processing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with knowledge of OSHA codes, safety practices, and general electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with timely upkeep of properties, including painting, cleaning, repairs, construction, and remodeling, in accordance with agency standards.
• Perform and document work order requests, including troubleshooting and repairing minor plumbing, mechanical, and electrical issues.
• Support security and safety across agency properties for residents, tenants, coworkers, vendors, and the public.
• Assist with snow removal during winter months to ensure safe access to buildings and grounds.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to respond to after-hours and weekend emergency maintenance needs.
• Perform general maintenance tasks including interior and exterior cleaning, debris removal, lawn care, carpet cleaning, painting, sheetrock repair, woodworking, window repair, and minor electrical and plumbing repairs.
