Job summary

SIG is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and predictive maintenance, analyze breakdowns, and support production equipment upgrades. The role involves fabricating and repairing components using various machining tools, while following electrical codes and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
  • Proficient in reading mechanical/electrical schematics and diagrams.
  • Familiarity with PLCs and electrical controls.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform routine reports and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide input to preventive and predictive maintenance to improve equipment reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and repair production machine equipment and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Provide mechanical and electrical support for routine and preventive maintenance.
  • Interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics for troubleshooting.
  • Support sanitation and housekeeping standards and safety programs.
  • Contribute to Kaizen events and continuous improvement.

Summary Of Role

Maintenance Technician is to perform preventive and predictive maintenance inspections, conduct breakdown analyses, provide technical assistance for solving reliability issues, assist with production equipment upgrades and rebuilds, and fabricate, modify, assemble and repair a variety of production components/assemblies/systems utilizing various machining and metal fabricating equipment and tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides input to preventive & predictive maintenance efforts to improve overall equipment reliability Troubleshoots & repairs production machine equipment and systems
  • Ensures Strict conformance to all applicable electrical codes & OSHA safety requirements for facility and production equipment, as well as Scholle IPN safety guidelines.
  • Provides mechanical and electrical skills support of routine & preventive maintenance.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of basic electricity.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of electrical controls as it pertains to PLCs.
  • Capable of interpreting electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, & mechanical schematics for troubleshooting.
  • Provides support of departmental standards for sanitation & housekeeping
  • Supports the introduction of new technology
  • Displays strong teamwork & communication skills with a hand on, positive style
  • Models safe behavior at all times
  • Responsible for reporting food/product safety problems or ris to a supervisor or manager immediately, or take action if possible
  • Perform PM’s
  • Conduct breakdown analyses
  • Participates in annual PM optimization Kaizen events
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or G.E.D required.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Previous Maintenance experi
