Job summary

SIG is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and predictive maintenance, diagnose breakdowns, and support production equipment upgrades. The role requires basic electrical/mechanical skills and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in maintenance preferred.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical diagrams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance inspections.
  • Conduct breakdown analyses and provide technical assistance.
  • Repair, upgrade, and maintain production equipment and systems.
  • Adhere to electrical codes, OSHA safety requirements, and site guidelines.
  • Interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics for troubleshooting.
  • Support sanitation, housekeeping standards, and safety initiatives.
  • Participate in PM optimization Kaizen events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Summary Of Role

Maintenance Technician is to perform preventive and predictive maintenance inspections, conduct breakdown analyses, provide technical assistance for solving reliability issues, assist with production equipment upgrades and rebuilds, and fabricate, modify, assemble and repair a variety of production components/assemblies/systems utilizing various machining and metal fabricating equipment and tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides input to preventive & predictive maintenance efforts to improve overall equipment reliability Troubleshoots & repairs production machine equipment and systems
  • Ensures Strict conformance to all applicable electrical codes & OSHA safety requirements for facility and production equipment, as well as Scholle IPN safety guidelines.
  • Provides mechanical and electrical skills support of routine & preventive maintenance.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of basic electricity.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of electrical controls as it pertains to PLCs.
  • Capable of interpreting electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, & mechanical schematics for troubleshooting.
  • Provides support of departmental standards for sanitation & housekeeping
  • Supports the introduction of new technology
  • Displays strong teamwork & communication skills with a hand on, positive style
  • Models safe behavior at all times
  • Responsible for reporting food/product safety problems or ris to a supervisor or manager immediately, or take action if possible
  • Perform PM’s
  • Conduct breakdown analyses
  • Participates in annual PM optimization Kaizen events
  • Other duties as assigned
Education
YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or G.E.D required.
Skills & Experience
  • Previous Maintenance experi
  • Ensures strict conformance to all applicable electrical codes & OSHA safety requirements for facility and production equipment, as well as Scholle IPN safety guidelines
  • Provides mechanical and electrical skills in support of routine & preventive maintenance
  • Supports the shift maintenance team in problem solving & troubleshooting efforts

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as sa rules, operating and maintenance instructions, proced manuals, and Power Point presentations. Ability to w routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and perc and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate me median, and mode, and apply SPC to the quality proces

  • Basic skill knowledge and understanding of Micro Word and Excel, and Virtual Client to perform effecti in daily activities Ability to perform visual inspection process successfully read and apply technical material includ print specifications
  • Ability to solve problems by identifying root causes developing alternative solutions
