Position Summary
Chevy Chase Club is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering Department. This position is responsible for performing general and preventive maintenance throughout the Club’s facilities, with a focus on maintaining the proper operation, safety, and appearance of building systems and equipment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial or facilities maintenance and possess working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, kitchen appliances, commercial equipment, and general building maintenance. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, self-motivated, and capable of working independently while supporting the overall objectives of the Engineering Department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform general and preventive maintenance throughout Club facilities.
- Troubleshoot and address minor mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and equipment issues.
- Assist with maintenance and repairs of kitchen appliances and commercial equipment.
- Perform basic painting, patching, and other building maintenance tasks.
- Respond to and complete work orders in a timely and professional manner.
- Properly use hand tools, power tools, electrical testers, and other maintenance equipment.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support the Engineering Department with daily operations, special projects, and preventive maintenance initiatives.
- Deliver exceptional internal customer service while interacting professionally with members, guests, and fellow team members.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency calls as operational needs require.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials consistent with Facilities operations.
- Must be able to work from lifts, ladders, and scaffolding; to manipulate heavy equipment, tools, and supplies and/or exert force up to 50 lbs.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in general commercial or facilities maintenance preferred.
- Working knowledge of basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building maintenance.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and regulations.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to use work order or maintenance management systems.
- Comfortable using electrical testers and other diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
