Job summary

Higher Recruitment Inc. is recruiting a hands-on Back Maintenance Technician for a growing manufacturing operation in Chanhassen, Minnesota.

This role supports production equipment and facility operations, with emphasis on root-cause troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical issues to improve reliability and efficiency. You will gain exposure to a wide range of equipment and systems, contribute to equipment uptime, and work in a team that values safe practices and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
• Proficiency using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with production and maintenance teams.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple maintenance needs in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to stand and walk for the majority of an 8-hour shift and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain mechanical components including gears, bearings, drives, gearboxes, and timing systems.
• Diagnose, repair, and install electrical and electronic systems including servo motors and drives, AC/DC motors, sensors, PLCs, computers, control systems, I/O modules, actuators, power supplies, transformers, and heating/cooling controls.
• Troubleshoot and maintain pneumatic systems including compressors, logic circuits, actuators, and sensors.
• Fabricate parts and equipment using welding and machining techniques.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, specifications, technical manuals, and work instructions.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities to support reliable operation of production equipment.
• Maintain accurate work orders, equipment logs, maintenance records, and parts/inventory information.
• Support building and facility maintenance activities as needed.
• Assist with procurement and inventory management of maintenance parts, tools, materials, and supplies.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to others regarding basic equipment maintenance.
• Communicate maintenance project status, equipment issues, and recommendations to leadership.
• Utilize computerized maintenance and production technologies to improve equipment performance and maintenance processes.
• Follow all safety procedures, standardized work practices, and applicable policies.
• Perform additional maintenance and related duties as assigned.

Higher Recruitment is partnering with a growing manufacturing organization to identify an experiencedMaintenance Technicianto join its team in Chanhassen, MN.

This is a hands-on maintenance role supporting production equipment and facility operations. The ideal candidate is mechanically and electrically strong, enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment issues, and takes pride in finding the root cause of problems rather than simply addressing the immediate symptom.
