To assist the Lead Maintenance Technician in the functioning of the hotel. Performs repairs and preventative maintenance work to ensure the hotel maintenance quality standards are achieved and maintained. Provides excellent guest service in an efficient, courteous professional manner; following LBA standards of friendly hospitality while adhering to guidelines and procedures.
Pre-requisitesMaintenance associates have access to guestrooms and property, and character traits of honesty and trustworthiness are essential to this position. Therefore, maintenance associates must pass the appropriate security clearance, per company policy.
- Working knowledge of electricity, AC, plumbing, and preventative maintenance.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Summary of Essential Job FunctionsThe essential function of the Maintenance Technician is to ensure all mechanical areas of the hotel operate correctly while working within preventative guidelines set by the company.
Must be able to perform major life activities: standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating.
Specific requirements include:
- Push or pull 100 pounds and lift/carry 60 pounds.
- Stand for eight hours, bend, stretch, reach, climb ladders, crawl, kneel, and work in low positions, sometimes for extended periods.
- See and hear adequately.
- Speak and read English; knowledge of another language may be helpful.
- Follow oral and written instructions.
- Display professionalism, honesty, and trustworthiness at all times.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge in:
- Building and mechanical trades, safety precautions, repairs, and maintenance.
- Reporting hazards and following safety guidelines.
Skills:
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Use hand and power tools properly.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Assist guests professionally and maintain privacy.
Abilities:
- Respond promptly to work orders.
- Perform minor repairs on plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, and HVAC systems.
- Diagnose mechanical malfunctions and determine corrective actions.
- Communicate effectively with staff and management.
- Work safely and as part of a team.
- Maintain professionalism and service orientation.
- Possess basic computer skills.
Specific Responsibilities- Maintain facilities using preventative maintenance guidelines.
- Ensure all equipment is functional.
- Complete assigned tasks and documentation.
- Assist with houseman duties as needed.
- Perform other duties within physical capabilities.

- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Work shifts and weekends as required.
Positions for Possible AdvancementOpportunities include training other Maintenance Technicians or advancing to Lead Maintenance Technician, with leadership skill development.
