Job summary

5th Axis Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance team. You will perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on CNC production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • Technical training, apprenticeship, certification, or coursework in industrial maintenance or related field is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems; electrical experience preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial production equipment.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read maintenance manuals, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and work order systems.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns, maintenance work orders, and emergency repair requests.
  • Perform equipment adjustments, component replacements, and repairs as required.
  • Troubleshoot machinery to restore safe and reliable operation with minimal downtime.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), safety procedures, and established maintenance standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and work order documentation.
  • Partner with production operators and supervisors to minimize production interruptions.
  • Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain tools, replacement parts, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Do
