Job summary

HMTX Industries, headquartered in Norwalk, invites you to join our maintenance team in Calhoun, GA. As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and repair production and facility systems to minimize downtime.

This role requires forklift certification and experience with automation, conveyors, and building systems. You will document activities, coordinate with safety, and work with vendors to keep operations safe and productive.

Qualifications

  • Proven maintenance technician experience in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or industrial setting.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance on material handling and production equipment.
  • Forklift certification required; familiarity with boom lifts or scissor lifts preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on material handling and production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and minimize downtime.
  • Inspect facilities for maintenance needs, safety concerns, and code violations.
  • Maintain records and inventory for maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with Safety and vendors for OSHA compliance and repairs.
  • Respond to emergencies and support installation or modification of new equipment.
  • Keep shop organized and ensure safe, efficient operations.

Your Opportunity to Make an Impact

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in keeping our operations running safely and efficiently. You'll perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and repair both production and facility systems to minimize downtime and support business continuity. Working closely with distribution leadership, safety teams, and external vendors, you'll help maintain a safe, reliable, and productive environment for our employees and operations.

What You Will Do
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on material handling and production equipment, including conveyors, orbital wrappers, carton sealers, automated strappers, robotic systems, and forklifts.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures, identify root causes, and perform repairs to minimize operational downtime.
  • Inspect equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, code violations, and repair priorities.
  • Perform routine building and facility maintenance, including repairs to doors, windows, walls, plumbing fixtures, HVAC systems, locks, access control systems, and security cameras.
  • Maintain maintenance records, inventory levels, and documentation related to preventive maintenance and repair activities.
  • Partner with the Safety team to address equipment and facility safety concerns and support OSHA compliance efforts.
  • Coordinate with managers to schedule preventive maintenance and support the installation or modification of new equipment.
  • Build effective working relationships with contractors and service providers to ensure quality repairs and continuous improvement of maintenance processes.
  • Maintain organized shop areas, tools, equipment, vehicles, and parts inventory to support efficient operations.
  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency service requests and coordinate outside vendors when specialized repairs are required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Who We're Looking For
Required Experience & Skills
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on material handling, automation, or production equipment.
  • Working knowledge of automation systems, PLCs, VFDs, electrical systems, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general facility maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience using maintenance management software (CMMS), mobile technology, and basic computer applications.
  • Forklift certification required; experience operating boom lifts, scissor lifts, or maintenance vehicles is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
Education
  • High school diploma or trade certificate with applicable industry experience in various trades.

The salary range for this role is $22 to $25/hr and a yearly bonus potential. This range is applicable for jobs performed in the Eastern and Central Time Zones. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, and business organizational needs.
