Job summary

The Westin Westminster is seeking a reliable Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering team. You will perform routine and preventative maintenance across guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas to keep the hotel safe and fully operational.

Responsibilities include prompt response to maintenance requests, basic repairs of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other systems, plus logging work orders and coordinating with the Chief Engineer and Front Office.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel, building, or facility maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to diagnose and complete general maintenance repairs independently.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Schedule: Full-time | Flexible shifts including weekends and holidays

About The Role

The Westin Westminster is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering team. This position plays a key role in maintaining the hotel’s physical building and systems to ensure a safe, comfortable, and fully operational environment for our guests and associates.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to guest room and public area maintenance requests.
• Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on guest rooms, meeting spaces, and back-of-house areas.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, and mechanical issues.
• Perform painting, caulking, and other cosmetic repairs as needed.
• Inspect and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe operating condition.
• Complete and log all work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist with pool, spa, and fitness area maintenance (if applicable).
• Support emergency response procedures and coordinate with Security when needed.
• Communicate effectively with the Chief Engineer, Front Office, and Housekeeping to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in hotel, building, or facility maintenance required.
• Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to diagnose and complete general maintenance repairs independently.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs and perform physical work including bending, climbing, and carrying tools.
• Must be dependable, safety-minded, and team-oriented.
• Flexible availability including weekends and holidays.
• HVAC or trade certifications a plus but not required.
