Job summary

Smurfit WestRock plc in Bradenton, FL is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support a fast-paced corrugated packaging operation. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automated equipment, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults, read schematics, and use CMMS to manage work orders.

• 2-3 years of Electro-Mechanical Automation System Installation & Troubleshooting Experience.
• Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery including motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, and control systems.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, timely mechanical and electrical support and preventive maintenance.
• Install, service, repair, troubleshoot, and resolve issues on operating machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Maintain CMMS records, complete work orders, and research parts as needed.

Shift: 2 nd shift – 3pm to 11pm or 3rd shift - 11pm-7am

Primary duties include providing safe and timely mechanical and electrical support, preventative maintenance, installation, service, repair, troubleshooting, and resolution of multiple operating machines within a manufacturing industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have mechanical and electrical experience, a familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics, experience with CMMS (computer maintenance management systems), work order creation and closing, parts research, organizational skills, and have basic troubleshooting experience with proven ability of machine repair.

What you need to succeed:

• 2-3 years of Electro-Mechanical Automation System Installation & Troubleshooting Experience.
• An operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery which includes motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, industrial / electronic controls and power transmission systems.
• A good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• A strong PLC trouble shooting and problem-solving ability with practical, mechanical, & electrical aptitude.
• Must be able to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Must be fully computer literate with Microsoft environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a mature and professional manner.
• Ability to work various shifts / overtime / days per week.
• Familiarity with CMMS and work order systems
• Ability to take initiative and complete tasks without continuous supervision
• Good leadership skills
• Experience in rigging, alignment, precision tools for predictive maintenance, and lubrication

Job Requirements:

• Experience working in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment
• Corrugated box manufacturing experience a plus
• A strong desire to advance within the facility
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Offer contingent on passing background screening and drug screen.
