Job summary

Smurfit WestRock in Bradenton, FL seeks a hands-on Electro-Mechanical Technician for 2nd or 3rd shift to support safe, reliable plant operation.

You will install, service, troubleshoot and repair automation equipment, read electrical/mechanical drawings, work with hydraulics and pneumatics, and use CMMS for work orders. Strong problem-solver with PLC troubleshooting, good communication, and ability to work independently on rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of Electro-Mechanical Automation System Installation & Troubleshooting Experience.
• Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery including motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3-phase power, controls.
• Understand hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and mechanical/electrical aptitude.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Must be computer literate with Microsoft environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and on rotating shifts/overtime.
• Familiarity with CMMS and work order systems.
• Leadership and initiative in task completion.
• Experience in rigging, alignment, precision tools for predictive maintenance.
• Metal fabrication experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and timely mechanical and electrical support and preventative maintenance.

Shift: 2nd shift - 3pm to 11pm or 3rd shift - 11pm-7am

Primary duties include providing safe and timely mechanical and electrical support, preventative maintenance, installation, service, repair, troubleshooting, and resolution of multiple operating machines within a manufacturing industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have mechanical and electrical experience, a familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics, experience with CMMS (computer maintenance management systems), work order creation and closing, parts research, organizational skills, and have basic troubleshooting experience with proven ability of machine repair.

What You Need To Succeed

Job Requirements

• Experience working in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment
• Corrugated box manufacturing experience a plus
• A strong desire to advance within the facility
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Offer contingent on passing background screening and drug screen.
