Job summary

POAH Communities is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Bourne, MA properties near the Bourne Bridge. You will ensure safe, secure, and comfortable living environments and perform routine maintenance and make-ready repairs.

The position requires at least 1 year of apartment maintenance experience and a High School diploma or GED. A valid driver’s license is needed; HVAC certification is preferred, with a flexible schedule including weekends and on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for residents and staff.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment and repairs as needed.
• Complete make-ready repairs and coordinate needed make-ready services.
• Maintain grounds and assist with seasonal tasks as required.

ABOUT THE ROLE POAH Communities is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve asMaintenance Technician for our three Bourne Properties located in Bourne,MA all located less than a mile from the Bourne Bridge at the gateway of Cape Cod. Canal Bluffs was the first phase of a multi-phased residential community containing 28 units affordable to residents who earn 60% of the median area income. Clay Pond Cove at Canal Bluffs is the second phase of a multi-phased residential affordable housing community in Bourne, MA. High Meadow Townhomes is the third phase of a 117-unit affordable housing project in Bourne that includes Canal Bluffs and Clay Pond Cove. Newly constructed in 2018, it consists of 44 mixed-income, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments. • Insuring a safe, secure and comfortable living environment for residents, visitors and staff.
• Being knowledgeable of pertinent laws and EPA and OSHA regulations.
• Being aware of the condition of apartment property throughout the community and immediately initiate action to correct unsafe conditions.
• Scheduling and performing routine preventative maintenance on all appropriate equipment.
• Performing work area clean-up and safety related duties.
• Diagnosing and perform minor and routine maintenance/repairs.
• Insuring all make-ready repairs and services are completed.
• Inspecting and helping coordinate all needed make-ready repairs and services.
• Assisting in keeping grounds neat and clean. Rake, sweep, shovel as necessary.

ABOUT YOU

• Must have at least 1 year experience in apartment maintenance.
• High School diploma or GED required. HVAC certification preferred.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and automobile insurance coverage as use of personal vehicle may be required.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule with weekends and on-call basis as necessary.
• Must be knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, user-moved aids, mechanical equipment, measuring devices.
• Must be able to perform the following duties 66-100% of the time: be on feet, bend/stoop/squat/kneel, climb stairs, push/pull, reach above shoulder, climb ladders, grasp/grip/turn, finger dexterity, lift/carry up to 75lbs, be able to read and understand maintenance forms and warning labels.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
