Job summary
POAH Communities is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Walnut Grove Apartments in Blacklick, Ohio. The role requires hands-on maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and flexibility to work weekends or on-call shifts. You will ensure safety, perform preventative maintenance, and coordinate make‑ready repairs across 176 units.

Qualifications
- 1 year of apartment maintenance experience or equivalent preferred.
- High School diploma or GED required; HVAC certification preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License and automobile insurance coverage may be required.
- Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and on-call shifts.
- Must be knowledgeable and skilled with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Physically able to perform duties including lifting up to 75 lbs and climbing stairs.

POAH Communities is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as Maintenance Technician for Walnut Grove Apartments. This individual will be a bright and dynamic leader with hands‑on experience. Walnut Grove Apartments is a 176‑unit family development located in Blacklick, Ohio, a small unincorporated community on the northeastern portion of the Columbus Metropolitan area. POAH purchased the property from the National Church Residences (NCR). It consists of 50 one‑and two‑story single‑family homes and 17 townhouse buildings containing 126 units. The development contains 64 two‑bedroom, 62 three‑bedroom and 50 four‑bedroom units. The property sits on 10.5 acres on a 15 + acre campus shared by two other properties owned by NCR. Amenities for the property include two playgrounds and a community building that contains the management offices as well as a laundry and community room. - Insuring a safe, secure and comfortable living environment for residents, visitors and staff.
- Being knowledgeable of pertinent laws and EPA and OSHA regulations.
- Being aware of the condition of apartment property throughout the community and immediately initiate action to correct unsafe conditions.
- Scheduling and performing routine preventative maintenance on all appropriate equipment.
- Performing work area clean‑up and safety related duties.
- Diagnosing and perform minor and routine maintenance/repairs.
- Insuring all make‑ready repairs and services are completed.
- Inspecting and helping coordinate all needed make‑ready repairs and services.
- Assisting in keeping grounds neat and clean. Rake, sweep, shovel as necessary.
- Must have at least 1 year experience in apartment maintenance.
- High School diploma or GED required. HVAC certification preferred.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and automobile insurance coverage as use of personal vehicle may be required.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule with weekends and on‑call basis as necessary.
- Must be knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, user‑moved aids, mechanical equipment, measuring devices.
- Must be able to perform the following duties 66-100% of the time: be on feet, bend/stoop/squat/kneel, climb stairs, push/pull, reach above shoulder, climb ladders, grasp/grip/turn, finger dexterity, lift/carry up to 75lbs, be able to read and understand maintenance forms and warning labels.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
